Deputy Don McGlothlin was assigned as Deerfield Townships DARE officer and Crime Prevention officer in 2002. He teaches at Columbia Elementary and St Margaret of York. Don was instrumental in implementing a DARE program for home schooled children in Warren County. This was the first in the nation. The Sheriff's Office was recognized by DARE Ohio for this achievement.
Deputy Ben Dunaway was assigned as Warren County Dare and Crime prevention officer in 2003. He teaches DARE at the schools in Carlisle, Franklin and Waynesville.
They have teamed up to teach DARE at Little Miami Schools this year. This will add an additional 525 children that will receive DARE from the Warren County Sheriff's Office this year. This will give the two Deputies over 1300 DARE students the year. Hamilton Township had taught these Little Miami classes in the past.
Together they will teach approximately 720 3rd graders about seat belt safety thru a State Program this year. In addition there are many community events attended by Deputy McGlothlin and Deputy Dunaway. This includes the Warren County Fair, Crime Prevention and women's self defense classes.
