The office clerical staff has evolved over the past 15 years from a 2-person office into an expanded staff, which is "open for business" 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday. The clerical staff handles much more than routine telephone calls and requests for copies of reports. Arrest warrants, summonses, subpoenas, indictments, and other criminal and non-criminal court paperwork commonly are first sent to the clerical staff for processing and distribution. Patti Brown and Nicki Bishop manage these operations.

Have you ever considered buying real estate at a Sheriff's Sale? All the critical paperwork beginning with advertising the sale through the ads in the local papers to the preparation of the deed following the sale and the distribution of proceeds is the work of Lavina Hayes.

Sandy Arnett processes and enters the protection orders into the National Crime and Information Center database. WebCheck is an internet-based program for civilian background checks. This program reduces the return rate of civilian background checks to as little as several hours. An innovative program developed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) is significantly lessening the chances that child molesters and felons can harm schoolchildren and other vulnerable citizens of Ohio. Sandy Arnett is the Sheriff's Office WebCheck point of contact.

The Sheriff's Office doesn't close at night or after "normal" working hours. Janice Busald and Marianne Leisz continue to keep the office open for business from 4:00 p.m. to midnight to better serve the public and their needs. Janice and Marianne also keep the paperwork process flowing so that protection orders, warrants, and important court documents are handled immediately. They continue the transfer of information from the warrant and records files to the patrol division, corrections, and other agencies proceed without interruption.

Karon Johnson and Dana Chiaramonte share data entry and records management duties from midnight until 8:00 a.m. They enter the offense reports and other paperwork that the deputies generate from Deerfield Township, South Lebanon, and County Road Patrol.

The clerical staff is a team that works very well with each other and their duties are not limited by the above descriptions. They are certified and operate a 24-hour Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) computer and when an item is stolen, or there is a missing or wanted person, this information is inputted into this system, which communicates with the rest of the United States and Canada.

The clerical staff is often referred to as the "Central Hub" of the Sheriff's Office.
