Tom started his career in law enforcement as a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in January 1958. He retired from the Patrol, after thirty years of service, in January 1988 as the Assistant Post Commander of the Lebanon Patrol Post. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961 as an enlisted military police officer.
He was employed for four years, from 1988 to 1992, as a law enforcement instructor at the Scarlet Oaks Career Development Center in Sharonville, Ohio. During this time period he was also employed part-time as a police officer with the Springboro Police Department and worked as a probation officer/bailiff for the Warren County Court.
He was appointed to fill the un-expired term of his predecessor in June 1992. He was then elected to the full term in the November 1992 election. Tom was then re-elected in 1996 and 2000, and a fourth term as Sheriff in the November 2004 election.
Sheriff Ariss is a member of the National Sheriffs' Association and the Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association. He presently serves on the BSSA Board of Directors and is a immediate past State President. He is a graduate of the National Sheriffs' Institute.
He presently is serving, by appointment of the Governor, as a commission member of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Committee (OOCIC).
Sheriff Ariss is originally from Akron, Ohio and attended the University of Akron. He has an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Sinclair Community College of Dayton and has additional credits from the Ohio State University.
Since 1992 the Warren County Sheriff's Office has seen many dramatic changes. The staffing level has grown from 72 members in 1992, and strengthened to 177 in the year 2006.
The Warren County Jail received the Ohio Bureau of Adult Detention State Accreditation in March 2006 with 100% compliance. The Jail also received a Certificate of Accreditation, for meeting Standards for Health Services established by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
The Sheriff's Office presently provides 24-hour law enforcement contract services to Deerfield Township and the Village of South Lebanon. We also provide normal patrol services to the residents of Warren County, as well as provide security to the Common Pleas Court judges and the County Courthouse.
Sheriff Ariss is a member of numerous service and fraternal organizations and serves on several civic boards and committees in the Warren County area.
He lives in Lebanon with his wife Bonnie. Tom and Bonnie have two children, Patrick and Erin, and six grandchildren.

Chief Sims began his law enforcement career at Muskingum County Sheriff's Office in 1978. He holds an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from the Muskingum Area Technical College. He began his career as a Corrections Officer. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Larry attended the Ohio Peace Officer's Training Academy in Muskingum County and graduated in 1979.
In September 1980, Larry was assigned to the road patrol as a Deputy Sheriff.
In September 1981, Larry was assigned to the Detective Bureau and remained there till December 1996. During Larry's assignment to the Detective Bureau, he was promoted to Sergeant in September 1985 and later to Lieutenant in August 1993.
In January 1997, Larry was promoted to the rank of Captain. As Captain, Larry supervised operations of the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office. Larry assisted in the preparation of the budget, prepared and administered grants and was the computer system administrator. Larry also supervised the city/county drug investigations unit and the agency's special response team.
In October of 2000, Larry came to Warren County as a special investigator. In this position, Larry was employed by the Sheriff's Office, Children's Services and Prosecutor's Office. Larry was responsible to investigating child abuse cases, preparing these cases for prosecution and making arrests.
In October of 2004, Larry was promoted to the rank of Captain with the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Larry is the Human Resource Manager for the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
During Larry's career, he has attended a large number of training and seminars.
Larry was promoted to Chief Deputy on September 17th, 2005.
Larry currently lives in Springboro with his wife, Tammy. Larry has a son, two daughters and a step-son.

Randy Turnbow began working in the Sheriff's Office on September 17, 1995. Randy's first assignment was in the Warren County Jail as a Corrections Officer. In April 1996 Randy attended and graduated from the Corrections Officer Academy at Sinclair Community College.
On September 12, 1997 Randy was promoted to the rank of Corrections Corporal. While at the rank of Corporal, Randy attended the First Line Supervisor Course, which was conducted at the Ohio Police Officer Training Academy in London, Ohio.
In December, 1997, Randy was selected and became the Training Officer for the Warren County Jail.
In February, 1998, Randy was selected and became the Human Resource Officer for the Warren County Sheriff's Office. As the Human Resource Officer Randy has attended many seminars dealing with employment issues.
From September 2001 to May 2002, Randy attended evening classes at Butler County Peace Officers Academy. Upon completion of the Peace Officer's Academy, Randy was commissioned as a Deputy and appointed as a Captain. He continued as the Human Resource and Payroll Officer.
On October 1, 2004, Captain Turnbow was promoted to the rank of Major and assigned as the Warren County Jail Administrator.

Major Newsom came to the Warren County Sheriff's Office in 2001 after a twenty-six year career with the Cincinnati Police Division. He is the commander of the Operations Division which includes patrol deputies and detectives. Major Newsom holds a BS degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University. He is married and the father of two sons.

George began his law enforcement career at the Warren County Sheriff's office in 1987 joining the agency as an Emergency Police Officer or Cadet. In March of 1990 George graduated from the Miami Township Police Academy at which time he began working as a Deputy Sheriff.
In March 1990 George began his duties as a Deputy Sheriff working in the Warren County Jail until April of 1992 at which time he was assigned to the Road Patrol Division. During his time as a Patrol Deputy George also served the Sheriff's Office as a Defensive Tactics Instructor.
In March of 1997 George was promoted to Sergeant at the Sheriff's office working as the relief Watch Commander from March 1997 until July of 1997.
In July of 1997 George was transferred from the Patrol Division to the Court Services Division of the Sheriff's Office. During 1997 and part of 1998 George also served as a member of the Ohio Judicial Conference / Ohio Supreme Court Court Security Review Committee.
George is a 1990 Graduate of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Police Staff and Command.
In March of 2000 George was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant as the Commander of the Court Services Division.
George was promoted to Captain of the Warren County Sheriff's Office on September 17, 2005 as an Administrative Captain.
George currently lives in Carlisle with his wife Tamara, his son and three daughters.

Debbie Otto has been a member of the administrative staff since she joined the Warren County Sheriff's Office in 1988 as a clerical specialist. At that time, there were only 2 persons in what was then called "Records." In 1992, Debbie was appointed office manager has been in that position since then. Over the years the clerical office staff has grown to 9 persons. Record-keeping and other law enforcement administrative tasks are accomplished on a 24-hour basis five days a week, in addition to weekend staffing at selected times.
The clerical staff, under Debbie's supervision, is responsible for entering offense reports, maintaining criminal and civil warrant and summons files, issuing jury summonses, processing civil and criminal protection orders, and completing court-ordered sales of real and personal property in addition to numerous other duties specifically assigned to a sheriff's office by law. The clerical staff is frequently the "first point of contact" for persons having business at the sheriff's office.
Debbie has enjoyed productive and professional working relationships with many administrators and managers of other county and municipal offices and departments. Debbie and members of her staff been involved in implementing numerous technical and administrative improvements that have enhanced the quality of services provided by the sheriff's office as it works to meet the law enforcement needs of a growing population.
Debbie, a native of Montgomery County, lives in Lebanon with her husband, Bob.

Allena Moore began working at the Sheriff's Office on August 8, 1989. Allena's first assignment was as a Clerical Specialist doing all the transcriptions and report entries for the Sheriff's Office. During April 1990 Allena was assigned the responsibility of entries into the Jail Ledger. In May 1991 Allena was assigned the duties of Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) Terminal operator. During September 1991 Allena was made the Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for the LEADS. As the TAC for the LEADS Terminal Allena was responsible for all training and audits conducted at the Sheriff's Office until September 1997. In April 1992 Allena was assigned the position of Payroll and Fiscal Administrator. In February 1998 the payroll and fiscal division was divided into two divisions and Allena was assigned as the Fiscal Manager. Allena has attended numerous training classes over the years dealing with records management, personnel issues and accounting practices.

Joanne has been a lifelong resident of the Lebanon Area. She started her career as Administrative Assistant to the Sheriff in September 2002. She is also the Sexual Harassment Contact Person for the Sheriff's Office.
She was employed by the Warren County Prosecutor's Office (Tim Oliver was Prosecutor) as the director of the Victim/Witness Division from 1996 to 2002. She became a Notary Public in 1996 and remains as one in her current position.
She was employed by Kings Local School District from 1984 to 1996 as a school secretary.
Joanne lives in Lebanon with her husband Doug Sr. She has two children, Doug Jr. and Karie, and two grandchildren.
